Question:
Farhana Hajj 25 *All dates (and timings if you have) of any blood, spotting, and coloured discharge must be included within the dates. If not, the answer may be incorrect.* Unfortunately, I have lost the pregnancy, and I'm having a miscarriage at the moment. I'm still bleeding. Because my hcg levels keep dropping, no scan was taken place, as it would not be visible on the scan. I have had 2 pregnancies, and Nifaas was always less than 30 days I would say 28 days nifaas. In between my cycles, I'm not bleeding, spotting, or having discharge. I was very regular. I have been bleeding since the 7th of April, I have been to the hospital where they have now told me it's an ectopic pregnancy. I would have been nearly 8 weeks. The internal scan showed no growth, so no limbs, still pretty much an embryo embedded in the fallopian tube. These are my menstrual dates. 2024 December 17th - 23rd January 12th - 20th February 8th -14th February 28th - 4th March (post contraception removal bleeding?) March 11th - 15th March April 7th - ongoing

📝 Answer:

The bleeding and purity (tuh’r) has been in the following sequence:

17 December to 23 December, a total of 6 days of period.

20 days of purity (tuh’r)

12 January to 20 January, a total of 8 days of period.

19 days of purity (tuh’r)

35 days of continued bleeding from 8 February to 15 March (since you haven’t had 15 or more blood-free days at a stretch in there)

➖➖➖➖

✍️ Solution:

🔸 8 February to 9 February, a total of 1 day of definitive purity (istehadha).

▪ If you left any salah thinking of it as haidh and it turned out to be istehadha, then make qada of them.

♦️ 9 February to 17 February, a total of 8 days of period.

🔸 17 February to 9 March, a total of 20 days of definitive purity (istehadha).

▪ If you performed ghusl on 17 February, salah after it are all valid. If you didn't, then make qada of all the salah until you took ghusl.

▪ If you left any salah thinking of it as haidh and it turned out to be istehadha, then make qada of them.

♦️ 9 March to 15 March, a total of 6 days of period.

➖➖➖➖

23 days of purity (tuh’r)

7 April to 5 May, a total of 28 days of blood.

➖➖➖➖

✍️ Solution:

♦️ 7 April to 10 April, a total of 3 days of period.

🔸 10 April to 3 May, a total of 23 days of definitive purity (istehadha).

▪ If you performed ghusl on 10 April, salah after it are all valid. If you didn't, then make qada of all the salah until you took ghusl.

▪ If you left any salah thinking of it as haidh and it turned out to be istehadha, then make qada of them.

♦️ 3 May to 5 May, a total of 2 days of period.

➖➖➖➖

❄ Habit: 3 days/23 days

You are in the days of your period right now, so, if bleeding continues you cannot do any of your ritual worship.

If bleeding stops before 6 May (3 days), and is followed by a 15 day or more period of purity, then all of this will become istehadha.

If bleeding continues till 6 May, then you must do ghusl on 6 May and begin ibadaat.

If the bleeding stops before 6 May then take ghusl immediately and start saying your prayers but take ghusl on 6 May too to be on the safe side.

If the questioner is married, then she should keep this in mind as well:

Even if the bleeding stops and she performs ghusl and resumes salah, intimacy with husband remains prohibited till 6 May.

Kindly, keep note of the bleeding/spotting with month, date and time.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
