Question:
Farhana kamali All dates of blood must have been included. If they were not included, the answer will not be correct 2023 6th Sept - 12th Sept 4th Oct - 10th Oct 30th Oct - 5th Nov 25th Nov - 1st Dec Had coil fitted on the 5th Dec Spotting dark red and brown from 5th Dec - 8th Dec. Thought it’s because I’ve had coil fitted 21st Dec - 31st Dec 2024 1st Jan - 14th Jan 15th Jan - 23rdJan 24th Jan - 1st Feb 4th Feb So my periods are usually regular every month, the only issue is that they’ve been heavy, which was normal for me until about 6/7 months ago the doctors told me it wasn’t normal to bleed that much. I was told I have anaemia. The doctors gave me a few options to sort anaemia n get it to normal. First one was a blood transfusion, second was to have a Mirena coil and third option was to go on the pills. I had the coil fitted on the 5th December 2023. Since having the coil, my period bleeding has reduced drastically, I’m bleeding very less, but the doctor told me that was normal. I have got some period delay tablets as Insha’Allah I will be going to do umrah on the 15th Feb. I need advice on if I need to take the tablets.

📝 Answer:

The bleeding and purity (tuh’r) has been in the following sequence:

6 September to 12 September, a total of 6 days of period.

22 days of purity (tuh’r)

4 October to 10 October, a total of 6 days of period.

20 days of purity (tuh’r)

30 October to 5 November, a total of 6 days of period.

20 days of purity (tuh’r)

80 days of continued bleeding from 25 November to 13 February (since you haven’t had 15 or more blood-free days at a stretch in there)

➖➖➖➖

✍️ Solution:

♦️ 25 November to 1 December, a total of 6 days of period.

🔸 1 December to 21 December, a total of 20 days of definitive purity (istehadha).

▪ If you performed ghusl on 1 December, salah after it are all valid. If you didn't, then make qada of all the salah until you took ghusl.

▪ If you left any salah thinking of it as haidh and it turned out to be istehadha, then make qada of them.

♦️ 21 December to 27 December, a total of 6 days of period.

🔸 27 December to 16 January, a total of 20 days of definitive purity (istehadha).

▪ If you performed ghusl on 27 December, salah after it are all valid. If you didn't, then make qada of all the salah until you took ghusl.

▪ If you left any salah thinking of it as haidh and it turned out to be istehadha, then make qada of them.

♦️ 16 January to 22 January, a total of 6 days of period.

🔸 22 January to 11 February, a total of 20 days of definitive purity (istehadha).

▪ If you performed ghusl on 22 January, salah after it are all valid. If you didn't, then make qada of all the salah until you took ghusl.

▪ If you left any salah thinking of it as haidh and it turned out to be istehadha, then make qada of them.

♦️ 11 February to 13 February, a total of 2 days of period.

➖➖➖➖

❄️ Habit: 6 days/20 days

You are in the days of your period right now, so, if bleeding continues you cannot do any of your ritual worship.

If bleeding stops before 14 February (3 days), and is followed by a 15 day or more period of purity, then all of this will become istehadha.

If bleeding continues till 17 February, then you must do ghusl on 17 February and begin ibadaat.

If the bleeding stops before 17 February then take ghusl immediately and start saying your prayers but take ghusl on 17 February too to be on the safe side.

If the questioner is married, then she should keep this in mind as well:

Even if the bleeding stops and she performs ghusl and resumes salah, intimacy with husband remains prohibited till 17 February.

Kindly, keep note of the bleeding/spotting with month, date and time.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
